Last month our new Family Cottage, made possible by a generous gift from The Honorable Robert Willett, was dedicated and opened for business. The gift was made in loving memory of his wife and former Hathaway-Sycamores’ board member, Linda Willett.

Hathaway-Sycamores Family Cottage Dedication

(from l to r): On hand for the dedication were: Bradford Freer, Julie McCarty, Bessie Ramírez Ruiz, Annsley Strong, Paulette B. Lang, Cole Dalton, Rob Myers, Robert Willett, Debbie Manners, Scott Hodgkins, Renée LaBran, Ken Goldstein, John Amato, and Allen Ulibarri.

Complete with a kitchenette, bathroom, sleeper sofa and entertainment center, the cottage is a warm and welcoming space where families visiting our El Nido residential campus can stay overnight. According to Robert Willett, “Hathaway-Sycamores makes hope possible for children and families facing very challenging situations. As former clients of the agency, Linda and I knew first hand of the wonderful help available. She had an enduring affection for the clients, the agency, the staff and her fellow board members. She knew that a Family Cottage would make possible family visits that otherwise could not happen.” There is tremendous need for this new Family Cottage, it has been utilized each weekend since the dedication and is booked every weekend for the foreseeable future. Everyone at Hathaway-Sycamores is extremely grateful for Judge Willett’s generosity.
