BBQ, Blues & Bocce Raises $70,000

Thank you to everyone who joined us last Friday for the BBQ, Blues & Bocce event. A special thank you to event chairs Bessie Ramirez Ruiz and Brad Freer.Some 250 friends and supporters of Hathaway-Sycamores attended the casual twilight affair at our El Nido Residential Campus.

There was even a bounce house for the kids at this fun family friendly event.

Those in attendance also had the opportunity to tour the El Nido campus. As part of the campus tours, guests saw several of the rooms in Rowland Cottage where some of the boys on campus live, including two newly renovated rooms with fresh paint, new flooring, furniture and bedding.

Money raised at the event will be used to purchase new furniture for the other bedrooms on campus.

There was also a silent auction of original art created by the boys that live on the campus.

Both the Freer Family and The Ahmanson Foundation were presented with the Benevolent Benefactor of the Boys 2017 Award for all they have done in support of the boys at El Nido. The awards are beautiful acrylic sculptures by Vasa, an internationally known painter and sculptor.
