Make your plans to come to our first ever ArtVocacy event on Saturday, May 19, 2018. This free art event at our Family Resource Center in Highland Park is open to the community and is geared to youth in middle school and high school.

ArtVocacy Event at Hathaway-Sycamores

Date: Saturday, May 19, 2018

Time: 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Location: Hathaway-Sycamores Family Resource Center
840 N. Avenue 66
Los Angeles, CA 90042

The event will serve as an introduction to a variety of art forms. Participants at the event will have the opportunity to see live dance performances and explore the arts through hands on interaction with professional artists. Some of the creative activities include painting a community mural, learning drawing techniques, clay modeling, collage creation, zine making and much more.

The event was conceived and is being produced by the members in our Youth Leadership Program. This impressive group of students range from eighth graders through 12th graders who attend schools locally in the Northeast Los Angeles area. The youth are collaborating with Councilmember Jose Huizar City Council District 14, DSTL Arts and others on this creative event.

There will also be wonderful snacks in addition to the all the artistic activities.

All are welcome at this community event but the activities are geared for youth ages 12 and up. No daycare will be provided for younger children. For more information about the event please email or call Yvonne Sarceda at (323) 257-9600 ext. 7225.
