Max Harrison volunteering with the youth at our Family Resource Center

April is National Volunteer Month. At Hathaway-Sycamores we are very fortunate to work with some amazing volunteers who all share the common goal of helping others and making our community a better place by investing in people. We are so grateful for each and every one of you! Thank you to our mentors, the compassionate individuals who devote a year or more to make a positive difference in a child or teen’s life with their friendship, guidance and support. We so appreciate our volunteer board members who offer their experience and expertise, donate money and time, and help raise awareness about the important work we do at Hathaway-Sycamores. The folks, professionals and students alike, who help tutor the youth at our Learning Lab are changing the outlook for the future of these kids. Thank you in particular to our incredible support groups the Los Altos Auxiliary and Learning Lab Ventures; Friends of Foster Children San Gabriel Valley; the National Charity League; staff members, friends and supporters who help at our events; Las Candelas; Occidental College students; St Francis High School La Salle High School students; and  the Junior League of Los Angeles. (Just to drop a few names.) Thank you to all of our volunteers, you do make a difference!

You can watch some of our fantastic volunteers from the Junior League of Los Angeles in action in this short time lapse video “A Mural Comes to Life.”
