On Saturday, January 7, 2012, 40 young men (aged 14-18) took their positions on the storied Rose Bowl field to take part in the “Battle of the Bowl VII,” a unique, flag-football fundraising event that has brought in more than $185,000 since its inception to benefit Hathaway-Sycamores.   Created in 2004, the Battle of the Bowl is under the direction of 17-year-old Brendan Doney who has taken over the organization and fundraising of this event for the past two years.
