Union Salon Opening
Art Auction to Benefit Hathaway-Sycamores
March 27, 2010, Hathaway-Sycamores’ new neighbor, Union Salon, is celebrating their grand opening with Art from the Heart. You are invited to the bash that will include an auction of original watercolor paintings created by the youth at our Highland Park Family Resource Center. The proceeds from the auction will benefit the children and families of Hathaway-Sycamores.

Stop by Union Salon to see the artwork, meet our new neighbors or schedule an appointment. The colorful “Under the Sea” themed paintings, already on display at Union Salon, were featured in the Hathaway-Sycamores 2009 Children’s Art Calendar. The artwork was produced under the guidance of Master-in-Residence artist, Mary Kay Wilson.
The Masters-in-Residence Program uses expressive arts to encourage the kids to value their individual strengths and build self esteem. Each year, an artist is commissioned to work with the children. Over the course of several months, a dozen or so major works of art are created. For the
“Under the Sea Art Project” Wilson shared her passion for watercolor painting with the young artists helping them to gain tools to express themselves in a positive creative way.
Wilson’s award winning paintings have been widely exhibited in both regional and national shows. To see her work, visit Wilson’s website:
