Debbie Manners is a Fabulous Woman
Debbie Manners, Hathaway-Sycamores’ Senior Executive Vice President was named to THE Magazine’s list of “50 Fabulous Women of Influence.” Manners has dedicated her professional life to making a positive difference in the lives of children facing profound challenges.

Originally intent on pursuing a career as an artist, Debbie shifted professional gears after leading a therapeutic art program for women prisoners and for children living in shelters; it soon became clear to her that both groups were struggling with mental-health issues, poverty, and abusive pasts. Feeling compelled to help, Debbie earned a master’s degree in social work. In 1987, she joined Hathaway-Sycamores Child and Family Services.
In the ensuing 20 plus years, Debbie has unquestionably helped shape the agency into the standard-setting organization it is today. She has been instrumental in expanding Hathaway-Sycamores' programs to include foster care and adoption, school-based and outpatient-mental-health services, wraparound services, transitional living, and a family-resource center.
Tireless and immeasurably dedicated, Debbie, who manages a monstrous workload considers herself to be extremely fortunate. As she puts it, "I've been given the opportunity to be part of people’s life journeys and to help guide them toward achieving happier, healthier journeys. I view that opportunity as a privilege.”
