The Center for Grief and Loss for Children is a program that focuses on working with children and families who may be struggling to cope with the death of a loved one or a long-term loss. Our professionally trained therapists and youth specialists are experienced in delivering services that are strengths-based, culturally sensitive, and family-focused. Services can be provided in the community; including homes or schools. Caregivers are an integral part of treatment and are included in the therapeutic process. We utilize Evidenced Based Practices (EBP) that have been clinically proven to be effective with services lasting up to one year. We work collaboratively with individuals and families in restoring joy.
To qualify for services, a child should be between the ages of 4-17 years old, experienced trauma (e.g. death of a loved one, long term/permanent loss, or terminal illness), residing in South Los Angeles (SPA 6), and with an active full-scope Medi-Cal.
