Acclaimed Singer-Songwriter Craig Richey
Hosts Holiday Concert to Benefit the Children Served by Hathaway-Sycamores
For the second year in a row, acclaimed film composer and singer-songwriter Craig Richey hosted a holiday concert to benefit the children and families served by Hathaway-Sycamores Child and Family Services.
Held at Pasadena’s Boston Court Performing Arts Center, the evening featured a cocktail and hors d’ oeuvres reception along with a silent auction, followed by an intimate concert showcasing Richey’s original holiday scores. Some 75 Hathaway-Sycamores’ supporters—each of whom donated a gift card for holiday distribution to kids and families in need—applauded enthusiastically for Richey’s entertaining performance of warm, humorous, and thought-provoking songs.
Richey—who was accompanied by a trio of talented musicians—is best known for several notable film scores, including The September Issue, Friends with Money, Wonderful World, and The King of Kong. In kicking off the concert, Richey addressed the audience, noting, “We hope that you enjoy the spirit of giving, as we make a difference in children’s lives.”
Hathaway-Sycamores’ President and CEO William Martone expressed a similar sentiment, thanking Richey for sharing his time and talent, and thanking those on hand for their “year-round support of Hathaway-Sycamores.” Adding, “Your generosity at this time of year is especially appreciated; you’re brightening the holidays for kids and families who otherwise might go without.”
